Part 2

Lake Towada, Aomori – Winter Story Festival
*fireworks*
Waah, it’s so pretty…!
Taaamayaaaa~.1
They’re reflecting in the white snow, how beautiful.
(It started already…!)
What’s wrong, Chief? You keep looking around.
Oh, um, nothing. It’s just the fireworks started before Ryui-kun could come back…
They’re flying pretty high up. I’m sure he can see them.
Next, a message from Toriko Ei-san of Tokyo prefecture.
“THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALWAYS SUPPORTING MEEEEEEE!!”
I see, so they read out the messages before shooting the fireworks.
It’s a very good surprise.
Next, a message from Dentaro Aio-san of Aichi prefecture.
“I love you, my honey bun! Please marry me!”
(Ryui-kun still isn’t back yet, I wonder if he’ll make it in time for that…)
My heart is pounding…
I agree, me too…!
Huh?
Watching fireworks being shot up into the sky alongside a confession and proposal is so romantic, it makes my heart beat just thinking about it…!
Ohh, yeah! Right, exactly!
If it was you, Chief, what kind of message would you send to your special someone?
Um, well…
1. What about something like this?
How about… “Let’s remember these fireworks forever”…?
KYAAA!! Chief, that’s so romantic…!!
What a high-level "Will they? Won't they?" technique that would make even the most calm and collected lose their cool…!
Ahhhhh, I can see this heart-thumping love story unfolding in front of my eyes…
(I think I might have accidentally started something…!)
2. I can’t think of anything
Nothing is really coming to mind…
Do you mean you don’t need words to convey your feelings…! Kyaaa! That’s charming in its own way too!
Two people watching the fireworks together quietly … while holding hands…
Then, one person turns their face to the side slightly only to lock eyes with their partner… I’m sure the fireworks reflected in their eyes at that moment will remain an unforgettable memory for the two…!
(He took that really well…!)
Choices end here
Phew. It makes my heart flutter just thinking about it…
Toi, I’m back.
Oh, Ani-sama! Welcome back!
You’ve brought back a variety of warm soup and oden, my boy.
It’s like he’s opening his own stall.
Thank goodness. I’m glad you made it back in time, Ryui-kun…!
Huh? The hell you on? The fireworks’ started already—
Next, a message from Kaede Hamasaki of HAMA.
Hm!?
Huh?
“Toi-kun, Ryui-kun, good luck! We’ll be rooting for you!”
!!
Ahaha, I guess we can call this surprise a success then?
…Why’d you go and do something so embarrassing…!
Th-Thank you! I feel so happy…!
Well, if Toi likes it I guess it’s fine.
Everyone on the Night Team will be fully supporting you two. This tour is definitely going to turn out great!
Yes, of course!
Chief. I… I don’t think I will ever forget the fireworks I saw today…
A word typically shouted during fireworks. Tamaya is one of the two great firework crafter shops from the Edo period of Japan. During this time, there would be firework competitions held between the two shops and voters would choose the name of the shop that they liked the fireworks of. The tradition has been passed onto today with Tamaya being the more common saying due to different reasons, one of which being, it simply sounds better.
