Part 1

Hama House – Living Room
Thanks for waiting, Kiroku. I’m done reading now, you can turn the page.
Okay…
(Hm? Everyone aside from Ushio-kun is tightly squished together on the sofa around Kiroku…)
…
Ermm~? “That’s right… In order to…” re-refarm?
Reform.
Ohhhh, thanks! That makes more sense!1 “In order to reform this school, I came back from the future”—
HUUUUUUUUUUH!? HINOMIYA’S FROM THE FUTURE!?!?
*the other 3 jump back a bit*
Argh, dude.
My ears… are ringing, from, Isotake’s…
Oh, oopsies.
Mhm, the screams of reading that part for the first time, bless.
You guys look like you’re having fun. What are you doing?
Oh, Chief.
We are reading the latest chapter of PatiBattle together as a group.
Yeah! But Kiroku’s the only one with the book, so we’re just leeching off of him!
I see… PatiBattle is the manga Ushio-kun likes, right?
Chief, you… knew…?
Yeah. Memories of partaking in a passionate drink battle together are all coming back now…!
You guys did that…?
Okaaay, so can the Chief shut up for a sec?
If you’re down, wanna read with us, Teach? There's a spot next to Kiroku, so sit down please!
And then I can just look from the back like—
…Isotake, stop… moving, your jaw… on, my head…
Ahaha, thanks! Then, excuse me…
Hmph…!
…?
Then let us continue off from where Reito obtains his revenge against Hinomiya alongside his new spatula.
Okay…
…Ah.
(This scene is portrayed… really well. You’re able to tell Reito’s newfound resolve and the relationship between him and Hinomiya just from this one panel…)
I want to try… drawing, this…
…!
I’d love to see this with your vivid colours!
Nanamegi, if it’s okay… can you…
Golem~? It’s fine if you draw, but don’t tell me you plan on asking Panda to model for you again?
Um…
Busted—
Oho, do my ears deceive me or did you just ask for a model!?
Lemme just daaaaash to the kitchen real quick! And WHOOSH!
*Akuta runs off and then back*
Ta-dah! A spatula!
You’re as busy as a bee.
Heed! I give thou permission to scribble with all your might my, Akuta Isotake-sama’s, out of this world poses!
And a hmph, hup, whoa~
If you, move so fast… rather than, a sketch… it’ll be more, of a croquis.2
Are you pretending to be the Reito from this scene? In that case, how about wearing an apron as well?
Good catch, m’lord! Then lemme go get an apron, and I’ll part my hair while I’m at it.
Ahaha, that sounds fun. Oh, is this what they call cosplay…?
As if? This is too shitty to be considered anything close.
Cos, play…
Akuta, isn’t that your specialty? I remember you showing me your horseshoe crab.
Y’mean the Devil Horseshoe Crab! But that’s more like a costume for movies rather than a cosplay.
Isn’t cosplay more, y’know, sexy, or like revealing and all that… I-I’m not ready for that kinda stuff yet…
I thought Halloween costumes were considered a form of cosplay…
……
Cosplay isn’t something!
AS SUPERFICIAL AS SUCH!!
UWA!? ACK!
Sakujiro-san!?
Wh-Where, did he, come from…?
My apologies for scaring you. I came since we were discussing my area of expertise.
You mean those clothes you have aren’t just ‘cause of your tastes?
*sigh* …I’ll make this as simple as possible for you casuals and normies to understand, but…
Cosplay is the result of understanding a character's personality and background well.
In other words, it is a way to express your love for a character. It is a sublime form of art unlike no other!
I see, I see. So it’s like how actors put a lotta attention into detail for their roles! In that case, I get it!
Cosplay… is also, a form of art…
If you guys still wanna do it after that explanation, then I’ll personally judge your love for PatiBattle myself.
Huh? Do… it?
Isn’t he hinting at a modelling showdown?
So we will all try to become characters from PatiBattle. In that case, I will be giving it my all.
Huh…?
Then while it may be presumptuous of me to volunteer, I shall humbly ask to join as a judge for this competition.
Even Mr. Saku-chan…
(All I did was mutter how I wanted to try drawing something, how did it come to this…)
(But if they’ll model for me… I guess… it’s fine…?)
Originally, Akuta didn't know how to read the word 変革 (reform) since characters in Japanese can have multiple pronunciations, and Muneuji helps him out by telling him 革 is pronounced ‘kaku’ in this case to which Akuta replies, “Like the ‘kaku’ in kakumei (革命; revolution).” This aspect of the Japanese language doesn’t translate well into English, so creative liberties were taken to reword what Akuta says.
A quick and sketchy drawing where the model would shuffle through poses in minutes. It is usually used in fashion.
