Part 1

HAMA House – Living Room
Yeah, so this video is really cool.
COOL!
And like this part here is pretty insane.
INSAAANE!!
And then there’s this part that’s wild…
WIIIIIIIIIIIIIILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello Isotake-sama, Nanamegi-sama.
Oh, Azekawa-san.
Wassup Kinari-san!
May I ask what exactly is so cool, insane, and wild? Please teach me so I may improve my judgement.
This here, this video! Nanaki’s showing me a snowboarding clip!
I was thinking of hitting the slopes since it’s been a while and was referencing professional trick montages when Akuta snuck in a peak in from the side and got hooked.
But just watching makes me hyped! Like they go pew and then fly in the air like whoosh and then land like pwah!
Pew, whoosh, pwah.
YEAH! Like every one of the sounds are cracked as hell!!
Personally, I’m more into buttering1 tricks that you can easily slide into.
I see. One can classify snowboarding as a form of extreme sports. This is understandable as people get excited by watching it.
Bibibibibibi!! DING!
? What is it?
Did you guys hear that… the sound of my creative juices flowing.
You want to shoot a snowboarding movie?
YAR! The Snowboarding Exorcist That Seals the Snow Shark’s Vengeful Spirit in a Snowy Mountain, The Movie!
…There’s a lot I wanna ask, but a shark in the snowy mountains…? Why a shark?
I believe the habitat is unsuitable.
But like, if you put them in like the snow, or like the sands, or like in a volcano, they kinda just vibe, yeah?
What kind of logic is that?
Well, putting that aside~. If I’m gonna shoot this movie…
We must go location scouting, correct?
And a 10/10 answer from Kinari-san!
Search results completed. Allow me to guide you to a ski slope reachable in a day’s trip.
There seems to be both an outdoor and indoor ski slope within the facility. May I suggest the indoor slope so we will not have to worry about the weather impacting us?
Indoor Ski Slope
And so, the squad pulls up to the artificial ski slope!! The fluffy white powder snow and colourful lights are making for a hella cracked pic!!
AH, hey guys, don’cha think I look a million times cooler than usual?
What?
I do not believe there is any difference.
Hmm, then we gotta work on that. Gotta somehow trigger the magic on the slopes…
Huh?
“The magic on the slopes”… A word pertaining to the magic that increases the allure of individuals under the influence of a rare experience, such as being on a ski slope.
Ohh. I-I see. Then in that case…
We gotta properly bring back the footage! And then we can show it to everyone in the living room.
Yeah… let’s do that!
By the way, both of you guys are beginners, right?
The one and only up and coming freshie at snow school.
I also have never been snowboarding before. I have only inputted the basics within my system.
Nanaki’s gone before, right? Lucky~! Starting tomorrow, I’ll be able to say “Yeah, I’ve shredded before” too. Gotta nail this, so I won’t be called out for lying!
Please teach us the basics.
I wouldn’t say I’m the best at it, but if you’ll have me.
Sir yes sir, master!
In that case, let’s start from how to hold the board. The edge can be sharp so you should always wear gloves…
(Fufufu. If I can snowboard like the dude in that video…)
Akuta’s imagination
Hear yee hear yee! Feast your eyes on the ultra intergalactic snowboarder Akuta Isotake’s GS jump…!!2
*Akuta goes down the slopes*
Oh my, what an intense and exciting triple backflip. All of my components are sharking, an Earth-piercing waterfall of tears is pouring out of my sockets.
KYAAAAAA!! AKUTA-SAN IS SO COOOOOOL!!
Fufufu… Like a crash of rhinos gathering at a glimmering oasis, the ground shakes as the crowd surges.
Indoor Ski Slope
Heeey, Akutaaa! Let’s come back to reality, okay? *grabs and shakes him*
Alright, alright. If you want my signature, please form a line.
What are you on about? Did you listen to my explanation?
Sorry, nope. Can you run it by me one more time!
…Well, I guess you are the type to pick things up in practice rather than via explanations.
Isotake-sama, please do as I am and strap one leg onto the board.
We’ll start by practicing with one leg strapped in.
Leave it to me. This’ll be a piece of cake-
WAH!?
*Akuta falls*
Isotake-sama!
Ow my butt…
…
Damn, is this for real? Snowboarding’s hard!
But… You’re quick on the uptake as expected.
Hm?
This is a basic snowboarding trick used on the ground. It’s a position where you lift one end of your board up and glide along the snow as if it was butter.
GS stands for grand slalom which is a competitive bracket in snowboarding competitions. GS jump here would just mean the jumps performed in the competition.
1800 years instead of the standard lifetime/1000 years for 18 TRIP.
Akuta and Nanaki were classmates in preschool, they were both in the Oden class. Oden is a type of Japanese stew.
