Epilogue

HAMA House – Living Room
That sounds amazing~. I’m having a lot of fun just listening to your stories.
The locals were all very nice.
In the end, we didn’t manage to communicate with them 100%, but their hospitable intentions really got across…
And every single dish they gave us was delicious.
No, for reals! Like we ate and ate and at some point it became an all-you-can-eat meat party! In my opinion, the mutton won by a landslide!
For me… I liked the kumis3 the most. We ended the party drinking it while gazing at the starry sky.
Renga-san barely had a sip before getting tipsy and started licking his hands like a lollipop~.

J-Just forget about that already!
Ah, but don’t worry, teach, I drank tea. Like, you know the milk tea looking thing that’s super salty?4
It was bussin’, for real, for real! Lowkey addictive though, like, I had whole 10 cups.

I see… If it’s that delicious then maybe I should look up the recipe and make it sometime?
Yay—!
…But thanks to that, our plans got kinda messed up and the guide got mad at us for disappearing when we got back…
Yeah, like real sorry to the guide… but IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!
Oh, but when we left, the people there told us something.
That this wasn’t a “farewell,” but a “let’s meet again.” And they sent us off, waving goodbyes at us until we disappeared into the horizon…!

Maaaaan, just thinking about it makes me wanna hop on a plane and go back all again! Let’s go Mongolia!!
(Both Renga-kun and Akuta-kun have smiles on their faces as they reminisce… they’re twinkling.)
I’m glad the two of you had a wonderful time over there, above all else.
But, I have to say, I did break out in a cold sweat when the staff contacted me about your disappearances…
Yeah, I mean, normally people don’t get lost in Mongolia?
The two of them go beyond all expectations. They are the perfect energetic little brothers.

Kamina-san, you’re too soft on them. It’s not healthy to dote on people that much.
Sorry to worry you, teach!
We’ll be more careful next time.
Got it, but there’s no problem since you guys made it home safe and sound.
And as a souvenir, I got to hear about your wonderful adventures. I’m looking forward to your trip reports.

Huh!?
Erm… the report… Well… uhh… the report is um…
Teach~, can’t we just pretend storytime just now was the report and call it a day~?
I mean, I’m personally okay with that, however…
You think you can pull a fast one over the prez?

Nope, not at all!
D-Don’t worry, Akuta! Teamwork makes the dream work.
I also suck at summarizing things, so why don’t we share ideas and work from there…?
Sounds good to me. With the power of Renga-san and me combined, anything is possible! That’s how it went when we got lost!
Let’s hurry up and get this over with! Report conquest! A4 paper, 5000 words conquest!!
Exactly. The two of us will be done in no time.
Uhh… what was it called again? Um… that… right!
It’s like taking candy from a baby!
That’s right, that’s right!
And even then, the two of you would probably still mess it up. I mean, two idiots don’t make a genius? The future looks bleak.
Ahahaha…
(Maybe it’s because the two of them overcame dangers together. They seem much closer than before…)
(A lot happened in Mongolia, but nonetheless, I’m sure this became an important experience for them both. I’m genuinely happy for them!)
Khoomei is a style of throat singing, often accompanied by the horsehead fiddle, from Mongolia and eastern Siberia.
Kumis, also spelled kumiss or koumiss or kumys, is a slightly alcoholic, fermented dairy product common in the Central Asian steppes.
Akuta is talking about suutei tsai, a traditional Mongolian beverage also known as süütei tsai, tsutai tsai, or Mongolian salty tea.
